Dr Kira Funderburk is from Denver Colorado and has completed dental school at the University of Colorado, receiving the degree Doctor of Dental Surgery. She then attended the University of Alabama-Birmingham for advanced training in a general practice residency program. At this program she learned IV sedation, conscious sedation, implants, and how to manage medically compromised patients. She also completed several esthetic and complex dental cases. Dr. Funderburk is excited to be joining the Downtown Dental team, where patient education and comfort are her top priorities, while still providing a very high quality of dental work. She is a current member of the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and Illinois State Dental Society. In her free time she enjoys exploring Chicago with her husband and is training to run the Chicago marathon this fall. ---It takes seventeen muscles to smile and forty-three to frown.
